The Buffalo Beer League guys toured the Henderson team around the City of Good Neighbours to taste some great beer and meet some great people.

Our first stop was at Resurgence brewing.

Resurgence may be in an old Dog Pound, but they have done an amazing job of creating a welcoming location which is bright and airy.  The beer selection was excellent – standouts include the Loganberry wit, Session IPA and the Blood Orange saison.

They have an excellent outdoor patio, games on the tables and beer memorabilia from many of the other brands that have brewed in Buffalo over the years

.

The second stop was at Community Beer Works.  They are Buffalo’s first nano brewery and opened in 2012.  Standout beers included The Whale Brown Ale, and the very funky This Beer Kills Fascists.    We enjoyed a very animated game of Cards Against Humanity, though no one could be convinced to participate in kazoo karaoke.

Stop three was Thin Man Brewing.   Opened just last year, they have already made a splash on the brewing scene, doing many collaborations including one with Wadawa (Polish brewer) which we had the chance to try.  They were kind enough to take us on a tour of the brewery which including a tasting of an imperial stout, aged in apple-brandy casks.  Yum!

Our final stop was at Big Ditch in downtown Buffalo.  We were feeling pretty jolly by this stop and their delicious imperial IPA only added to that positive state of mind.  Thanks Buffalo!
