Style: Foreign Export Stout

OG: 16.5 Plato

ABV: 6.5%

IBU: 50

SRM: 38

Malts: All British-origin malts: Maris Otter, 2 kinds of Crystal malt, Chocolate malt, and Roasted Barley

Hops: Northern Brewer

Yeast: California Ale (our house strain)

Aroma: Baker’s chocolate, ground coffee, touch of dried fruit

Appearance: Jet black with ruby hues, opaque with a persistent tan head

Taste: Chocolate and roast up front, with a touch of toffee, biscuit, and dried fig. Firm hop bitterness, no discernible hop flavour, clean finish, dry

Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium-low carbonation, creamy and substantial, though not overly lingering, mouthfeel

Overall Impression: A dark, moderately strong, balanced, dry stout with prominent roast flavour.
